Buzzsaw.com Editorial Style Guide

As the Site Editor of Buzzsaw.com (February 2000 to May 2001), one of my first tasks as was to develop and implement an Editorial Style Guide covering style and usage issues unique to the Buzzsaw site.

Developing the style guide turned out to be a very rewarding challenge. For the most part, the style guide conforms to The Chicago Manual and Wired Style with borrowings from the Associated Press Stylebook and the New York Times Manual of Style and Usage.

Implementing and enforcing the style guide was something else altogether. Let's just say that it's hard to install a steering mechanism on a cart that had already been pushed down the hill by the time you were lashed to the bumper. Add to that the fact that each wheel was pointed in a different direction and the other passengers were -- if not the best minds of their generation or starving -- definitely hysterical naked and dragging themselves through the concrete hallways looking for an angry mineral water.

If you have a comment on anything in the style guide, please email me.
